Clench the fist and look through it a far, for this is what will be seen in this mountain range, bearing resemblance to the knuckles that stand out.

Sinharaja
The last remaining primary tropical rainforest in the entire land, this last resort is a profusion of bio diversity that enriches the pristine wilderness.
The virgin rainforest in the southwest part if the country is a designated biosphere reserve and also a UNESCO World Heritage site which signifies its importance for conservation.
It is remarkable that this unspoiled land is home to more than half of the endemic species of flora and fauna in Sri Lanka. Treading in to the reserve, the most significant to explore is the birdlife, making it a birdwatchers paradise. Species of mammals, amphibians, reptiles and butterflies are also found in the forest, though the dense vegetation makes it hard to spot them.
Being in the heart of the wet zone, it is home to an extensive variety of vegetation with towering trees having a dense canopy, lush undergrowth with tropical evergreen forests, montane forests and freshwater swamps.
